The best apps for cheer teams in 2026: 11 options compared

There is no single best app for a cheer team: the right one depends on the job you need done. Cheer-specific apps such as CheerHit, CheerVue and CheerNexus understand the sport; gym software such as iClassPro and Jackrabbit runs classes and tuition; general team apps such as TeamSnap, Spond and SportEasy are cheap or free but built around matches and line-ups. This guide compares eleven of them on what each is built for, what it costs and what it does for a cheer team.

A word on who wrote this: CheerHit is one of the apps on this list, and this guide was written by its founder, Vivien Mahé. Everything said about the other apps comes from their own websites and app store listings, read on 18 October 2026 and linked at the end, so you can check it yourself.

The short answer

  • To run a club or team's season, with an app every athlete uses: CheerHit.
  • To run a US all-star gym as a business (tuition, classes, tryouts): CheerVue, iClassPro or Jackrabbit.
  • For a coach who wants formations and tryout scoring: CheerNexus.
  • For ready-made choreography: Cheer Builder.
  • For a free general team app: Spond, BAND, or the free plans of TeamSnap and SportEasy.

Apps built for cheer

CheerHit

CheerHit runs a club or team's season: roster, schedule, attendance, competitions and polls, with a web dashboard for the staff and a free mobile app on iOS and Android for every athlete, coach and staff member. Every "can't go" carries a reason, the attendance report shows the reasons behind absences, the schedule writes itself into the phone's own calendar with alerts, and each team's competition results are recorded. Every athlete owns their account and a CheerHit pass that follows them across clubs. It is in English and French, priced in euros, dollars or pounds. Clubs pay per team: from $12 a month for the first team and $8 for each additional one, with a 14-day free trial. It does not collect tuition, sell classes or run tryouts. Team chat is coming soon.

CheerVue

CheerVue is software for running a US all-star gym as a business. It collects tuition from families (autopay, late fees, payment plans, crossover billing), sells classes, camps and private lessons through a public catalog, runs tryouts from scoring to placement reveals, and gives families team chat and announcements. It also has a point of sale, a merch store and kiosk or geofence check-in. It is free for gyms with up to 40 active athletes and $50 a month above that ($420 a year), and payments families make through it carry a 1.25% technology fee on top of card processing. It is in English and priced in US dollars. We compared it with CheerHit in detail in CheerHit vs CheerVue.

CheerNexus

CheerNexus describes itself as an all-in-one cheer management app built for coaches. Its standout tools are for the mat and tryouts: a formation builder on a 9-panel floor, a routine builder in 8-count blocks, and tryout scoresheets where guest judges' scores are averaged automatically. It also has a calendar with recurring events that exports to Google or Apple Calendar, a parent portal with absence reporting, broadcast messaging to coaches and parents, and competition results. Plans are $14.99 a month for one team of up to 20 athletes, $24.99 for up to 3 teams, $49.99 for unlimited teams, or $499 a year for schools, with a 14-day free trial and no card required. It runs as a web app; we found no App Store or Google Play listing.

Stuntly

Stuntly is a new club app from Graz, Austria, built for cheerleading clubs and launched on the iPhone in September 2026. Coaches take attendance with one tap per athlete (present, excused, injured or absent) and see attendance rates per athlete and team; the club's board manages teams, roles, emergency contacts and a calendar of trainings, competitions and events from a computer. Logins for athletes and parents, and club finances, are listed on its roadmap rather than available today. Its website is in German and English, the app is in English, and no price is published: clubs register their interest by email. We found an iPhone app but no Google Play listing.

Cheer Builder

Cheer Builder is not a team-management app: it sells choreography. Coaches get professional video lessons that teach each athlete a routine count by count, shared with the squad through its Coach Center, plus a routine builder and tryout kits. It is aimed at youth and JV/varsity school programs in the US. Memberships are a flat yearly rate, $300, $600 or $1,200, and do not renew automatically; custom game-day routines start at $600. It sits alongside any of the apps on this page rather than replacing them.

Gym software that serves cheer

iClassPro

iClassPro is class management software for gymnastics, cheer, swim and dance gyms, and its cheer page addresses all-star gyms directly. It handles class and event booking, tuition billing on autopay, attendance with check-in kiosks, skill tracking, email, SMS and push messages, and a point of sale, with a parent app on iOS and Android included in every plan. Its site shows Cheer Awards wins for 2025 and 2026. Pricing is per location, not per athlete: $139 a month (Signature), $199 (Elite) or $299 (Premium, with a 12-month commitment), in US dollars, with texting billed per message on top. It offers a free demo rather than a free trial, and its pages do not mention competitions.

Jackrabbit Class

Jackrabbit Class is class management software for youth activity centers, with a cheer edition for all-star gyms. It covers online registration, automated tuition billing, class and private-lesson scheduling, self check-in attendance, waivers by level, and uniform management, with a parent portal on the web. Pricing depends on the number of students: from $49 a month, every core feature included. A branded parent app on iOS and Android, with push notifications and group chat, needs Jackrabbit Plus, from $93 a month plus a $169 setup fee. Its pages do not mention competitions or choreography.

General team apps

TeamSnap

TeamSnap is a youth sports team app with a dedicated cheerleading page and coaching content for cheer, such as chants and tumbling tips. The product itself is the same for every sport. Its free plan covers scheduling, messaging, assignments and payments for teams under 15 players; availability and RSVP tracking, and larger rosters, need Premium at $10.83 a month billed annually, or Ultra at $13.75 for unlimited roster spots. Several of its features, such as line-ups and player statistics, are built for match sports.

Spond

Spond is a free app for clubs, teams and groups, and it has a cheer page saying over 2,500 people affiliated with cheer use it. It covers groups and sub-groups, recurring events, automatic RSVP tracking, attendance exports, group chats, posts and polls, on iOS, Android and the web, in 24 languages. Using it is free; money collected through it carries a transaction fee, for example €0.20 + 2.5% in euros or $1.00 + 3.29% in US dollars. Some features, such as starting line-ups and goal tracking, are built for match sports.

SportEasy

SportEasy is a French team and club app for all sports, in seven languages. Its free Basic plan covers rosters, schedules, availability, messages and fee collection for up to 30 members; Premium costs €9.99 a month or €69 a year per team and adds unlimited members, task management and the attendance report. Clubs pay per member instead. It has no cheerleading page, and much of the product is built around matches: line-ups, tactics, scorers and an MVP vote.

BAND

BAND is a free group app from NAVER for families, friends, schools and teams. It offers posts and announcements, a group calendar with reminders, polls, chats and group calls, on iOS and Android, with ads. Its app store listings do not mention rosters, RSVPs, attendance tracking or collecting fees, so it works as a team noticeboard rather than a team manager.

How to choose

  1. Do you need to collect tuition and sell classes? Then you need gym software that automates tuition billing: CheerVue, iClassPro or Jackrabbit.
  2. Is your problem knowing who is coming, and why not? CheerHit records a reason for every absence and reports on them; Stuntly marks athletes as excused or injured and shows attendance rates; SportEasy's Premium plan adds an attendance report, and TeamSnap's adds RSVP tracking.
  3. Will your athletes actually open it? A free mobile app for athletes and families matters more than any feature. CheerHit, CheerVue, iClassPro, TeamSnap, Spond, SportEasy and BAND all have one.
  4. Are you outside the US? Check the language and currency. CheerHit (English and French; euros, dollars, pounds), Spond and SportEasy work across Europe, while CheerVue, iClassPro and Jackrabbit show their prices in dollars.
